HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - We continue to deal with hot and hazy conditions across the area this evening. In fact, that will be the case tomorrow as well as a ridge of high pressure over the southwest part of the country continues to extend east over the central and northern plains. This has helped to direct smoke from wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest and Canada into our area. While most of this smoke has stayed aloft, some has managed to make it to the ground creating health concerns for those sensitive to air pollution. With the ridge of high pressure nosing its way into the central plains we will continue to experience hot temperatures from now through the month and also into the month of August.
