ORIGINAL STORY – 07/20/24 – A Gold Alert has been issued for a Lewes woman. Delaware State Police say 60 year old Laura Wheeler was last seen leaving her home around 1pm on Thursday, July 18. Attempts to contact her have been unsuccessful and there is concern for her safety.

Heat Doesn’t Keep Chick-fil-A Out of the Kitchen
When Rebuilding Together Kent County’s Executive Director, Genevieve Croker, first got a call from Chick-fil-A Regional Facilities Manager, Kevin Hiden, she wasn’t sure whether she’d be able to accommodate their volunteer group. Kevin, who has a home near Rock Hall, had been chatting with a local friend, Cathy, about his company’s commitment to giving back and wondering if there was a nearby nonprofit that could be a good fit. Cathy immediately thought of Rebuilding and their work to ensure more of our neighbors live in safe and healthy homes. She put Kevin in touch with Genevieve and after several conversations, they found the perfect project for their volunteers: clearing out a home for a senior in MIllington!
PA Man Arrested for Domestic Incident in Rehoboth Beach
A Pennsylvania man was arrested by Rehoboth Beach Police after a domestic incident at a local hotel last week. Police contacted 45 year old Joseph Milano of Columbia, PA and the victim, Milano’s 34 year old girlfriend. Police learned the two had been arguing for several hours when the argument became physical and Milano struck the woman in the face – then began to choke her and smother her with a pillow. The victim kicked him to get free. The victim suffered multiple bruises and minor cuts.

Bethesda Game Studios workers unionize under Communications Workers of America
Bethesda Game Studios workers have voted to join the Communications Workers of America, forming the first wall-to-wall union at a Microsoft video game studio. The workers, consisting of 241 developers, artists, engineers, programmers and designers have either signed a union authorization card or indicated that they wanted union representation via an online portal. Microsoft has recognized the union.

BALTIMORE- Spotty showers give way to consistent rainfall across the forecast area this Saturday. Overall, we will see less than a 1/2" of rain. It's possible there might be an isolated thunderstorm as well. A stalled frontal system over the Carolinas moves back over the forecast region.We get a brief break Sunday, with sunshine peaking through, before a warm front moves through the area Monday, creating unsettled weather for the remainder of the week with a chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms each day.Lows tonight in the upper 60s.Highs for the Sunday are in the low 90s.Eventually the 80s do make a comeback, but unfortunately the humidity does return with it.Increasing clouds and rain keep the high temperature in the mid to upper 80s for Monday.Tuesday, there is a slight break in between systems, temperatures will again climb to around 90 degrees for the afternoon high.Although the weather pattern will be rainy for much of the week, sunshine returns for Saturday!
