CAMDEN — Paintings and prints by Rockport artist Maureen Egan are on display from August 2 through 31 at Zoot Coffee, 5 Elm St., Route 1. The show, entitled “It Starts with Wonder”, features original paintings and prints that pay homage to Maine’s natural beauty. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to organizations that preserve Maine’s undeveloped lands. On exhibition with Egan’s work will be original block prints by illustrator Holly Berry of Waldoboro. She will offer a mix of giclees and original hand-printed linoleum and woodcuts of Maine landscapes along with decorative images of animals.

ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - A handful of cyclists from the Ellsworth area meet every month to take in the city on two wheels. “I used to ride my bike a lot in England, but England was very flat, and everywhere it’s kind of close together. The towns are not far apart. So, when I moved to Maine, it was quite a shock that there’s big distances between places and it’s very hilly and I wasn’t really enjoying biking. I felt like there was a lot of traffic and there weren’t other people riding bikes and I really thought ‘Oh, it would be nice to make Ellsworth more bike friendly,’” explained Ellsworth Bike Party Organizer, Alice Slater.
