SHREVEPORT, LA – The proposal to sell a Shreveport grocery store to the group that owns Piggly Wiggly might be on the back burner today. A massive grocery merger deal is now on hold pending court action in the case. The Wall Street Journal reports Kroger and Albertsons have announced the $20 billion merger deal is being paused for now while antitrust enforcers pursue lawsuits to try to block the deal.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas (KLTV) - Mount Pleasant police have arrested a Bonham man after he reportedly tried to burn down his ex-girlfriend’s house. Freddie Wayne Gibson, 36, is accused of arson after he allegedly tried to burn down a house on June 25 in Mount Pleasant. According to an affidavit, Gibson was seen outside his ex-girlfriend’s home on a church’s surveillance camera during a house fire.
