As of Thursday, we have had a nice 8 day stretch of below average temperatures, but that is about to change. OKC was 91 Wednesday, and temperatures are already running a bit warmer Thursday. Expect low 90s for the end of the work week. Only very small isolated shower chances continue Friday.

Six years ago, the US Supreme Court struck down the federal wagering ban, allowing states to open legal wagering markets. Since then, 38 states including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico have some form of legal sports betting. One of the states that is still without legal online sports betting is Oklahoma. Recent court rulings have opened up the potential for more Native American gaming expansion. However, the nation’s largest per-capita tribal gaming market is still without legal online sports betting.

Merle Haggard Statue and Tribute Concert Coming To Oklahoma
A statue of the late country music legend Merle Haggard will be unveiled on October 10 followed by a tribute concert to the "Okie from Muskogee" The Merle Haggard Statue Committee has been working on the project for about 15 years. The City of Norman is considering a new location for an emergency homeless shelter after a scathing audit of the current facility. The current shelter location in downtown Norman off James Garner Avenue & West Gray Street has drawn the anger of area business owners and criticism from a city audit that found 19 deficiencies with the current setup.
