Huge EV Battery Recycling Facility Comes Online in Ohio
A big facility for recycling lithium-ion batteries is now operating in Central Ohio, where workers are busy salvaging and repurposing the metals and minerals needed to drive the clean energy transition. Cirba Solutions officially opened its expanded battery recycling plant in Lancaster — making it the first project of any kind to come online after receiving funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which passed in 2021. Cirba Solutions snagged more than $82 million in total federal grants to help scale its operation and meet the nation’s rising demand for key battery ingredients.

After much anticipation, the Sapore Ristorante at Novadell in Hopkinsville will be opening for business, with their grand opening set for Wednesday, August 28. The restaurant at 500 Novadell Way will bring with it Italian flavors, East Coast Italian American staples and comfort foods, creating signature dishes that restaurant goers can enjoy. The grand opening is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and that’s also when the new eatery will be officially opening for business.

MIDDLESBORO — The young and talented Harlan County Black Bears picked up a huge road win to start the 2024 campaign, defeating Middlesboro, 25-7. Morehead State volleyball began the season with a 3-1 exhibition victory against Miami (Ohio) at Johnson Arena. The Eagles showcased depth by utilizing all 16 roster players under second-year head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride. After a close start, they won sets one, three, and four decisively.
