After much anticipation, the Sapore Ristorante at Novadell in Hopkinsville will be opening for business, with their grand opening set for Wednesday, August 28. The restaurant at 500 Novadell Way will bring with it Italian flavors, East Coast Italian American staples and comfort foods, creating signature dishes that restaurant goers can enjoy. The grand opening is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and that’s also when the new eatery will be officially opening for business.
Black Bears start season off with 25-7 road win over Middlesboro
MIDDLESBORO — The young and talented Harlan County Black Bears picked up a huge road win to start the 2024 campaign, defeating Middlesboro, 25-7. The game was scoreless for almost the entire first half until James Howard put the Black Bears on the scoreboard with a four-yard touchdown run to give his team a 7-0 lead with 3:10 remaining until halftime.

Morehead State volleyball began the season with a 3-1 exhibition victory against Miami (Ohio) at Johnson Arena. The Eagles showcased depth by utilizing all 16 roster players under second-year head coach Kyrsten Becker-McBride. After a close start, they won sets one, three, and four decisively. Junior outside hitter M.E. Hargan led the team with 13 kills, while redshirt junior Sydney Wyman made a successful return after injury with 11 kills. Northwest traveled to Fryar Stadium at Fort Campbell High School on Aug. 23, and behind a strong start, the Vikings won, 35-16. Northwest came out of the gates swinging, scoring 28 points in the first half. The ground game was effective for the Vikings, highlighted by Brice Moore’s four touchdowns rushing.
