LIDO BEACH, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 7-foot-long shark was spotted just 25 feet from the shore at Lido Beach on Tuesday, according to officials.

The shark sighting prompted lifeguards to evacuate the water and close the beach around 5 p.m. The beach reopened an hour later, with swimming allowed, per officials.
