HENDERSON COUNTY — The body of a missing man from Crockett was found in southern Henderson County on Saturday, according to our news partner KETK. Patrick White Sr., 53 of Crockett, was initially reported missing on June 5 and was last heard from on June 2. Then on Saturday, June 15 at 8:44 p.m. his body was found in southern Henderson County.

Body of missing East Texas man believed to have been murdered found in Henderson County
HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas — The body of a missing 53-year-old Crockett man believed to have been murdered was found Saturday night in Henderson County. Patrick White Sr.'s body was located in the southern part of Henderson County Saturday around 8:45 p.m. Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputies traveled to the location and met with Henderson County deputies to process the crime scene.
Tentative trial date set for former Coffee City police chief accused of tampering
ATHENS, Texas (KLTV) - A Henderson County judge set a tentative trial date Monday for former Coffee City police chief John Jay Portillo. Portillo, 52, of Houston, was seen in a Henderson County court Monday for a status hearing. According to his attorney Justin Weiner, the result of the hearing was a tentative trial date on Oct. 21-22 this year. Weiner said this date may not result in a trial, as they are hoping to resolve Portillo’s six tampering charges without a jury.

Three arrested during narcotics search warrant in Tool
TOOL, Texas — Narcotic investigators executed a search warrant on Crown Drive, leading to the arrest of three individuals on drug charges. On June 14, 2024, Narcotic Investigators Jonathan Barrios, Jonathan Daille, and Brad Beddingfield, with assistance from the Tool Police Department, executed the search warrant issued by 392nd District Judge Scott McKee. During the operation, Elizabeth Jones, Steven Jonas, and Richard Mayes were found in possession of suspected methamphetamines.

ATHENS — Former Coffee City Police Chief JohnJay Portillo was in the Henderson County 3rd District Court for a hearing on Monday. According to our news partner KETK, the hearing was held after Portillo’s attorney asked Judge Mark Calhoon for more time before a trial, to come to an agreement with the state. If a deal isn’t reached, Portillo could be on trial as soon as Oct. 21 or 22. Portillo was arrested back in December of 2023 on six charges of tampering/false entry on a government record. Portillo’s arrest came two months after the deactivation of the Coffee City Police Department and Portillo’s termination as chief.

3 arrested for meth, outstanding warrants in Henderson County
TOOL, Texas — The Henderson County Sheriff's Office arrested three people in Tool for possession of methamphetamines in addition to outstanding warrants. Elizabeth Jones, Steven Jonas and Richard Mayes were booked into the Henderson County Jail Friday after investigators from executed a narcotics search warrant on Crown Dr. Officials said all three people were found at the residence and in possession of "suspected methamphetamines."
