Iowa State Fair Saying Goodbye to Popular Fair Stand
Iowa has one of the best state fairs in the country as thousands of people from around the state plan a state fair trip. Some people plan to enjoy the fair for an afternoon and others plan to enjoy the fair for multiple days in a row. This year there will be over 80 new foods for you to try at the fair so be sure to show up hungry and ready to try as many different foods as possible.

Page County board tabs Crain Construction for county jail site work
(Clarinda) -- Page County officials have selected a local contractor for the initial work on a new county jail and law enforcement center. Meeting in regular session Thursday evening, the Page County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved accepting the site work bid from Crain Construction of Clarinda for roughly $786,000. The bid is one of several categories reviewed by the board along with Samuels Group for the new Page County law enforcement center that would house a new jail, 911 dispatch center, and sheriff's office on a portion of the county farm on the south end of Clarinda. Samuels Group Owner and President Sid Samuels says they recommended moving ahead with the site work due to the proposal coming in under the engineer's estimate of just over $1.1 million.
