Foundation Aims to Make "815 Day" a Day of Service
The City of La Salle Foundation is staking out August 15th as the inaugural community-wide day of service in the city. On that day – also known as 8-15, or “815” – you're encouraged to take part in service projects around La Salle. The big project will be a cleanup of St. Mary's Park at 902 Grant Avenue in La Salle. The work starts at 4:00 on 815 Day. You don't have to have any experience or materials, but donations of clean-up equipment would be welcomed. You help as an individual or as part of a team from work, or a group of friends. Founder Dani Piland says the point is to make a difference in La Salle and encourage adults to show young people how to be good stewards of the community.
