Public meeting to prepare for Roundabouts

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- As roundabouts at the reconstructed KY 351 and 2nd Street interchange are expected to open in the coming weeks, a public meeting will take place tonight to provide information drivers need to be ’roundabout ready’.

The meeting will take place at Henderson County High School from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will feature video simulations, a virtual reality station that allows participants to “drive” through the new roundabouts, and other interactive activities. Attendees will also hear about the progress made in Henderson and what to expect for the rest of the year.

During the meeting, officials will also discuss construction that is expected to begin soon in Evansville and answer any questions the public may have about the project.

The roundabouts at the KY 351 and 2nd Street interchange are expected to open to traffic before the start of the new school year and officials say that they expect the changes to improve safety and traffic flow in the area.
