HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Officials say the Glema Mahr Center for the Arts invites prospective new volunteers to attend an information and training session at the Glema Center on August 13 at 6 p.m.

“Our volunteers are the face of the Glema Center,” said Toby Roberts, Director of Programs. “They are an essential part of our team. The time and skills they give here allows us to continue providing a quality live arts experience that is usually found in much larger cities.”

Officials say The Glema Center’s 2024-25 Season, spanning from August to July, includes 20 ticketed performances, as well as School Days Matinees, choral festivals, band assessments, MCC Singers concerts and other community events. Volunteers typically serve as greeters, ticket takers and ushers. Volunteers are welcomed—but not expected—to attend every event of the season. Returning volunteers are welcome to attend this session, although attendance is not mandatory to remain on the call list for the new season.

According to officials, individuals, families, friends, social clubs and civic organizations are encouraged to consider this opportunity. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, or 16 and working alongside a guardian. For more information about volunteering with the Glema Center or to RSVP to the August 13 training session, contact Misti Hodges at 270-821-2787 or mhodges0023@kctcs.edu or stop by the office Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
