HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Henderson Municipal Power & Light officials are asking residents to conserve their power usage again due to expected high temperatures.

Officials state the regional system operator, MISO, has declared a Capacity Advisory this week. Officials are encouraging customers to voluntarily reduce electricity use from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. for July 30 and 31.

Some suggestions officials have presented are raising air conditioning thermostat temperature settings, limit use of appliances and cover windows.

Officials say the cost of purchased power can increase significantly during peak demand times, so by reducing electric use, customers can lower their electric bills.
