Lafayette airport experiencing airline delays, cancelations during technology outage
A widespread technology outage disrupting flights and companies around the world is also causing airline cancelations at the Lafayette Regional Airport. "Although, our airport amenities are not being affected, airline are experiencing some delays, cancelations due to the outage, said Steven Picou, executive director at LFT. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is looking for seasonal technicians who aren't afraid to mix it up with baby alligators. The job posting is for a seasonal wildlife technician, based in the agency's Lafayette Alligator Management Program. From mid-March to October, the position will entail travel throughout the state, measuring, tagging and sacking captive-raised juvenile alligators for release to the wild. They promise extensive manual labor, to the tune of stuffing said alligators into burlap sacks and hauling the loaded sacks to trailers.
