New Report Shows Louisiana Is One of the Fastest-Shrinking States – Where Is Everyone Moving To?
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL News) - Louisiana is shrinking at a faster rate than more than 40 other states, according to a new report out today. U-Haul, the rental company that specializes in moving vans and trailers, released its annual report on which states have the most people making one-way rentals, and the Bayou State is near the very bottom.
New Iberia aerospace business to add 200 jobs thanks to federal $2M grant
For years aircraft have come from around the country to the Acadiana Regional Airport and into the headquarters of Aviation Exteriors for exterior painting and other details. Recently the company expanded into maintenance and repair. Now the company and its 200 employees hope to double its employee count and physical footprint with 200,000-square-foot maintenance repair and overhaul facility along with other amenities to handle more aircraft.

UPDATE: Three arrested in June 2024 shooting in Thibodaux
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced three people have been arrested for their roles in a in a June 2024 shooting in Thibodaux. David Bonds, 35, and Ronald Vallejo, 33, both of Thibodaux, were arrested for the attempted murder of Floyd Gage, 45, of Thibodaux who was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm following the incident. Bonds and Gage both suffered injuries in the shooting.
