The Hendersonville Police Department have arrested a 17-year-old male on charges of first-degree murder following the recovered remains of a Macon County girl of the same age.

Hendersonville police announced the arrest on Saturday, just a day after identifying the remains of 17-year-old Trinity Bostic. Bostic went missing on June 29, and a Tennessee Department of Transportation subcontract worker found Bostic’s remains along New Shackle Island Road while picking up trash.

The 17-year-old male whom police arrested in connection with Bostic’s death is being held at the Sumner County Detention Center, according to a news release. The news release doesn't identify the male.

Hendersonville police are still seeking additional information in the case and encourage people to call the police department with any leads at 615-882-1111 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
