OISC Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program comes to Loogootee Aug. 20
DAVIESS COUNTY — The 2024 Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal Program sponsored by the Office of the Indiana State Chemist (OISC) offers statewide pesticide collection sites in Porter, Steuben, Tipton, Daviess, Decatur, and Hendricks counties in August. This is a great way for farmers, public and private schools, ag dealers, nurseries, golf courses, cities, towns, municipalities, county units of government and any others receiving this notice to dispose of suspended, canceled, banned, unusable, opened, unopened or just unwanted pesticides (weed killers, insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, miticides, etc.) for free (up to 250 pounds per participant), Pesticides Only.

Passenger in pursuit, crash that killed ISP trooper sentenced to maximum prison term
INDIANAPOLIS — One of two people charged in a 2023 pursuit and crash that killed Indiana State Police Trooper Aaron Smith has been sentenced to a prison term. On June 17, Demareon Curry received the maximum sentence of 2 1/2 years in the Department of Correction for his guilty plea to a charge of resisting law enforcement.
