Fox 4 Community Correspondents are still working to get information about a mysterious hazmat investigation in LaBelle, more than three weeks after several first responders got sick investigating.
2nd man arrested following LaBelle hazmat scene
A second arrest was made during the investigation of the mysterious hazmat scene in LaBelle that made 20 first responders sick. The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Giovel Chmelnicky Valdes on Monday, June 24, in connection to several stolen vehicles and parts worth close to $1 million at the scene.

The man arrested during a hazmat scene in Hendry County that made 20 first responders sick appeared in federal court in Fort Myers. He faced a federal judge on Monday afternoon but not for anything related to the hazmat situation in Hendry County. He has yet to be charged for that.
