A Henrico man was sentenced to 27 years in prison Aug. 16 for selling fentanyl to law enforcement officials in three separate transactions in 2022 while he was also in possession of multiple guns, prosecutors said.

Jason Dominic Coley, 38, was arrested on March 22, 2022, after investigators found 13.8 ounces of fentanyl, as well as two semiautomatic handguns, a semiautomatic rifle, and 4.3 ounces of cocaine at his home. He was also found in possession of another .45 caliber handgun at a separate residence also linked to him, along with more than $16,000.

Law enforcement officials in Richmond conducted three controlled purchases of fentanyl from Coley between Feb. 10 and March 3, 2022. Coley had previously been convicted of federal crimes, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm or ammunition.

According to court documents, Coley admitted that he had purchased about two kilograms of fentanyl from California for distribution in the Richmond area.

Coley was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.
