The Richmond Public Library and Virginia Poverty Law Center have announced new in-person assistance hours and locations to help local renters who are facing potential eviction.

The assistance being offered is geared towards helping tenants prepare for court proceedings. The VPLC has set up an Eviction Defense Center to provide renters with access to information and resources.

The RPL and VPLC also have partnered with FightMyEviction.org and NoDesalojo.org to provide resources online.

The new hours and locations for the assistance sessions are Mondays from 9 a.m. to noon at the East End Branch library; Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Branch library; and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Broad Rock Branch library.

The VPLC is a statewide legal aid organization that seeks to break down systemic barriers that keep low-income Virginians in poverty.
