Stormy Pattern for the Midwest
One main low-pressure system stalls out over the Central Plains, keeping the severe threat reaching from the Canadian border and down into the southeast. The severe threat will continue through tonight and into Wednesday morning as the front lingers across the region. The SPC has issued an enhanced risk (level 3 out of 5). Hot temperatures have provided plenty of instability to help fuel storms that develop at any point in the day. All severe modes will be possible and any storms that develop can bring damaging winds, large hail, and even tornadoes (see above). More severe storms are expected to mix in later in the day.
Pritzker Administration Announces Child Support Pass-Through Payment Rule Change Takes Effect this Month
Beginning in July, all child support collected on behalf of Illinois’ low-income families with children who are current or former Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients in Illinois will be passed through to the family for the care and support of the child or children and will no longer be retained by the state, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) announced.
