    Eli Krueger's strong second half helps McFarland boys basketball rally for a win against Reedsburg

    Trailing by nine points at the half, it looked like the McFarland boys basketball team was going to lose a conference road game to Reedsburg.

    Eli Krueger had other plans.

    The 6-foot-6 freshman forward scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half as McFarland rallied for a 64-58 win on Friday, Feb. 16 at Reedsburg Area High School.

    Krueger shot 75% from the field, making eight field goals and grabbing eight rebounds. The 16-point performance is a season best for the freshman.

    Senior Andrew Kelley reached double figures as well with 14 points scored. Junior Hayden Harrison scored 10 points in the second half to finish with 13 points.

    Senior Braylan Roder made two 3’s in the second half, recording eight points. Junior Kaden Meinholdt added six points, while junior Ben Forbes recorded four points and three blocks.

    Junior Brady Ochalla contributed two points and junior Mason Roe added one point. McFarland scored 41 points in the second half.

    McFarland is 7-14 on the season and 6-7 in the Badger Small Conference.

    Mount Horeb 76, McFarland 59

    The McFarland boys basketball team suffered a 76-59 loss to Mount Horeb on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at McFarland High School.

    Josh Manchester of Mount Horeb led all scorers with 26 points. McFarland senior Andrew Kelley reached double figures with 11 points scored.

    Freshman Eli Krueger, junior Hayden Harrison and senior Kaden Meinholdt each scored nine points. Junior Brady Ochalla, junior Kellen Peil and senior Braylan Roder all contributed four points. Roder also collected 10 rebounds.

    Juniors Tate Eccles and Will Steinke both contributed three points, while senior Kaden Westphal scored one point.
