TWO RIVERS — Fiber friends! Here’s a few local opportunities to see where all that yarn and roving comes from — and to maybe find some new goodies for your stash.

The Spring Fiber Farm Extravaganza May 3-5 features three local farms raising fiber animals. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public.

The farms include Velvet Sheep Farms, W1681 Garton Road, Sheboygan; LondonDairy Alpaca Ranch, 6827 State 147, Two Rivers; and Black Frog Farm, 10907 W. Belmar Ave., Maribel.

Visitors can pet the sheep at Velvet Sheep Farm, as well as peruse the yarns, cat toys and dryer balls made of sheep’s wool for sale.

LondonDairy welcomes folks to interact and take selfies with alpacas prior to its shearing day. Feed the alpacas for $1. The farm’s gift shop offers alpaca socks, felted soap, sweaters and more.

Black Frog Farm focuses on llamas and chickens. Owners will be on hand to teach visitors about all the animals, including their rare Kunekune pigs. The shop sells goods made from sheep and llama fibers, fresh eggs and more.

Anyone who visits the three farms and gets a punch card punched is entered to win a gift basket. The farms are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Annual Odyssey and Farm Market Festival will be June 2.

LondonDairy Alpacas will also host its annual Odyssey and Farm Market Festival June 2. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine on the farm. This is a family-friendly event open to the public.

There is no admission charge, but organizers ask each person to donate at least one non-perishable, non-expired food item or minimum $1 donation per person. All food and cash will be donated to the Two Rivers/Mishicot Ecumenical Food Pantry. TREP representatives will greet guests at the main gate.
