MANITOWOC – A public screening of the documentary video “The Invisible Class” is slated for 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at First Presbyterian Church, 502 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc.

The video explores the homeless crisis in both urban and rural settings and looks at the historical causes and current dilemmas facing communities.

Additionally, a 16-minute video, “HIDDEN,” filmed two years ago by Manitowoc’s Jason and Tina Prigge about services and housing conditions in Manitowoc County, will also be shown before a question-and-answer session. The local video includes interviews with agencies about the needs in Manitowoc County, what housing stock was available at the time of the film and what services were offered then.

The free screening is sponsored by RUTH of Manitowoc County and ESTHER of the Fox Valley , both interfaith justice groups, with the hospitality of the First Presbyterian Church and The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County, Inc.

Jason and Tina Prigge: 'It was amazing to see her smile.' Jason Prigge shares update after visiting wife Tina in hospital.

Donations of personal travel-size toiletries, combs, lip balm, brushes, deodorants and first aid kits are welcomed for The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County, Inc.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and attendees are asked to use the glass doors on Eighth Street.
