MANITOWOC – Jesse Vang has a new status conference date after his attorneys met with Manitowoc County Circuit Court Judge Robert Dewane and District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre.

Vang, 39, is in custody at Manitowoc County Jail on a $20,000 cash bond while his court case moves forward. He is charged with felony chronic neglect of a child stemming from the disappearance of 3-year-old Elijah Vue .

Elijah was reported missing by Vang Feb. 20. After nearly seven months of law enforcement and community searches, the boy's remains were found Sept. 7 on private property just more than 3 miles from Vang's Two Rivers apartment.

No new arrests or charges have been filed in connection with Elijah's death since his remains were found.

Vang was arrested in February shortly after he reported Elijah's disappearance, along with Elijah's mother, Katrina B. Baur.

Vang's next status conference is set for 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6.

Baur's next court date, also a status conference, is set for 3 p.m. Oct. 22.

Both cases are being presided over by Judge Dewane.
