    A 20-tackle game highlights the top prep performers in Manitowoc and Sheboygan last week

    There was plenty of action to look back on from the past week.

    Here are the top prep performers from the week of Sept. 23-28 in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties.

    There won’t be a set number of players chosen in each sport in a given week, just including performances which stood out and deserve recognition.

    This means there might be more or less than the week previous.

    Another criterion is to limit selections to one player per team, per sport.

    Volleyball

    Riley Holzrichter, Kohler: The Blue Bombers defeated Reedsville on Tuesday 3-1 with Holzrichter playing a big part. She 15 kills, 13 digs, four blocks and a pair of aces.

    Addison Grall, Valders: Grall had 51 assists on Saturday as the Vikings went 5-0 to win their home invite, defeating Reedsville, Southern Door, Menasha, Omro and Seymour.

    Abby Weidmayer, Manitowoc Lincoln: Weidmeyer’s 14 kills, nine digs and three aces helped the Ships sweep Sheboygan South 3-0 on Thursday.

    Kennedy Kneser, Oostburg: Kneser helped the Flying Dutchmen defeat St. Mary’s Springs on Saturday 2-1, recording 14 assists and seven digs.

    Alaina Shimon, Sheboygan North: Shimon had 11 assists and two aces inf a 3-0 loss to Bay Port on Thursday.

    Liz Neils, Kiel: The Raiders took down Plymouth on Tuesday 3-2 with Neils contributing 12 digs and three blocks.

    Addison Kennedy, Howards Grove: Kennedy had 19 digs in a 2-0 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday.

    Football

    Griffin Knight, Cedar Grove-Belgium: Knight had a terrific game on Thursday in the Rockets’ 26-6 win over Oostburg. Knight caught a 12-yard touchdown pass and picked off two passes.

    Landon Floyd, New Holstein: The Huskies quarterback threw three touchdown passes and was 5-of-16 passing for 126 yards on Friday as New Holstein topped Chilton 24-21.

    Ben Prochnow, Reedsville: Prochnow only threw six passes on Thursday in a 33-20 win over Howards Grove but he completed five of them for 58 yards with three touchdowns.

    Olen Berg, Sheboygan Falls: Berg found the end zone twice, including the game-winning score, to help Sheboygan Falls defeat Two Rivers 21-20 on Friday.

    Max Matthias, Two Rivers: Matthias led the Raiders in the loss to Sheboygan Falls, scoring two touchdowns while gaining 78 yards on 18 carries.

    Bryce Gullixon, Kiel: Gullixon carried the ball 16 times for 180 yards and four touchdowns to help the Raiders roll past Valders on Friday 63-18.

    Vince Nienhuis, Sheboygan North: Nienhuis powered the Golden Raiders offense with 106 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 49-6 win over Sheboygan South on Friday.

    Brett Shutter, Plymouth: Shutter ran the ball 13 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ 42-7 romp over Watertown on Friday.

    Carmine Moctezuma, Kohler/Lutheran/Christian: Moctezuma was 20-for-34 with 315 yards, three touchdowns and an interception on Friday as the tri-op dominated St. Mary Catholic on Friday 42-14.

    Drew Reimer, Roncalli: The Jets narrowly defeated Brillion 28-27 on Friday as Reimer gained 117 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.

    Jayman Ott, Manitowoc Lutheran: Ott was 4-of-9 passing for 60 yards, a touchdown and interception each in the Lancers 35-0 rout of Random Lake/Ozaukee on Thursday. He also carried the ball 12 times for another 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

    Holten Golke, Random Lake/Ozaukee: Golke tallied 20 total tackles in the loss to Manitowoc Lutheran.

    Girls cross country

    Juliana Doerner, Mishicot: Doerner placed third at Thursday’s Mishicot Invite with a time of 19 minutes and 44 seconds.

    Allie Gallagher, Two Rivers: Gallagher was sixth (20:04.17) in Mishicot to lead the Raiders.

    Lillian Larson, Kiel: Right behind Gallagher in seventh was Larson (20:08.42).

    Allena O'Connell, Reedsville: O’Connell made it three local finishers in a row in Mishicot, taking eighth (20:09.20).

    Maggie Behler, Kohler: Behler won Saturday’s Rosholt Invite in dominating fashion, finishing in 18:07.00 which was more than 53 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.

    Boys cross country

    Eli Gallagher, Two Rivers: Gallagher finished second in Mishicot on Thursday with a time of 16 minutes and 43.51 seconds.

    Sam Keuler, Kiel: Keuler was hot on Gallagher’s heels in Mishicot, placing third (16:48.85).

    Nicholas Schubert, Ozaukee: Schubert placed sixth (17:29.6) at the Winneconne Invite on Tuesday.

    Ben Regennitter, Kohler: Regennitter was second (16:10.98) at the Rosholt Invite on Saturday.

    Matthew Wilterdink, Oostburg: Wilterdink shined at the Len Nickolai Invite in Manitowoc on Saturday, placing third (16:18.5) against some of the largest schools in the state.

    Girls tennis

    Thea Bates, Sheboygan North: Bates defeated Pulaski’s Aubrie Schluessler in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in their No. 2 singles match on Thursday as the Golden Raiders prevailed 4-3 as a team.

    Anneliese Huss, Plymouth: Huss took down Ripon’s Lily Price 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles to help the Panthers win the match 4-3 last week.

    Jordin Popp, Manitowoc Lincoln: Popp prevailed over Kiana Nguyen of Green Bay Preble 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles as the Ships won 5-2 on Thursday.

    Sophia Torke and Grace Villwock, Kohler: The Blue Bombers No. 1 doubles tandem defeated Ripon’s Elizabeth Weiske and Layla Hein 6-0, 6-0 on Thursday in a 7-0 rout as a team.

    Boys soccer

    Tanner Heyn, Manitowoc Lincoln: Heyn scored the lone goal in Thursday’s 1-0 win over Green Bay Southwest in the 41 st minute.

    Elliot Konsek, Sheboygan North: Konsek tallied a pair of goals and three assists on Tuesday in the Golden Raiders 9-1 win over Sheboygan South.

    Conor DeRoos, Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran: DeRoos contributed two goals to help the co-op defeat Kewaskum 3-1 on Thursday.

    Victor Aguirre, Sheboygan Falls: Aguirre recorded a brace, or two goals, on Tuesday as the Falcons took down Howards Grove/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 5-1.

    Caleb Heinen, Cedar Grove-Belgium: Heinen’s hat trick sparked the Rockets to a 5-1 romp over Central Wisconsin Christian on Tuesday.

    Cade Dirkse, Oostburg: Dirkse notched a pair of goals and assisted on another in a 4-0 win over Sheboygan Christian/Lutheran on Tuesday.

    Girls swimming

    Annie Devine, Kohler/Lutheran/Falls: Devine broke her own pool record in the 100-yard butterfly at Thursday’s triangular against Kiel and Two Rivers/Roncalli with a time of 1 minutes and 2.03 seconds.

    Ava Fuhrmann, Kiel: Fuhrmann won the 200 individual medley (2:35.64) to lead the Raiders on Thursday.

    Josey Allington, Two Rivers/Roncalli: Leading the co-op was Allington, taking second in the 200 freestyle (2:17.65).
