Tribute concert to ‘Polka King’ Romy Gosz set in Two Rivers with Lloyd Gosz and The Mystic Moods Orchestra

TWO RIVERS – Get ready to polka.

A tribute concert to the “Polka King,” Manitowoc County’s own Romy Gosz , will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26 at The Washington House, 1622 Jefferson St., Two Rivers.

Space is limited, and tickets ($10 general admission or $8 for Two Rivers Historical Society members) can be purchased at tworivers-history.org/ticketed-events/ , at The Washington House from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays-Mondays or by calling 920-793-2490.

The concert will be in The Washington House’s second-floor grand ballroom, which is handicapped accessible. The Mystic Moods Orchestra, featuring Lloyd Gosz, Romy’s son, will perform.

Romy was well known for his Bohemian brass style, which appealed to the diverse ethnic groups of the area — Polish, German, Bohemian, Dutch and Belgian. He was a highly respected and well-loved musician, with many people holding fond memories of Romy’s live performances and his ability to interact with his audience.

Lloyd Gosz does much of the same, in his own unique style of storytelling, a news release said, adding, “He warmly reminisces stories of his father, Romy, while embracing the music of his fellow musicians.”

Commemorative T-shirts are available in The Washington House Museum gift shop and feature the artwork of Dean Konop.
