    Things to do in Manitowoc this week include Police Chase at Silver Creek Park, live music and Packers pregame

    Run or walk at MTPD Police Chase

    Walk or run in honor of service dogs!

    The Manitowoc Police Department is hosting MTPD Police Chase, a 4-mile run/walk and 1.5-mile dog walk at Silver Creek Park, 3001 S. 10th St., at 9 a.m. Oct. 12.

    The route will take participants through the grassy park, on the trails and through a quiet neighborhood with overlooks of Lake Michigan.

    All dogs must be on a leash and good around large groups.

    Proceeds will be used to erect a bronze sculpture in front of the Manitowoc Police Department at 910 Jay St. to memorialize past K-9s.

    Kick off the season with Lakeshore Wind Ensemble

    Let the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble take you on a musical journey as it opens its season at the Capitol Civic Centre, 913 S. Eighth St., with music from the Lord of the Rings.

    Melodies from the trilogy will be performed as well as Johan de Meij’s 1988 award-winning symphony inspired by the Tolkien book series.

    Tickets are on sale now at cccshows.org for the show at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12.

    Pregame at PetSkull Brewing

    If you’d rather make some noise yourself, head to PetSkull Brewing, 1015 Buffalo St., Oct. 13 for the Packers Pregame Tailgate Party, starting at 9 a.m.

    All season long, fans are invited to pregame with other Packers fans with breakfast, clamdiggers, mimosas and other special menu items.

    Live music is featured each week. This week, Skabilly Circus takes the stage.

    Enjoy Music Mosaics Piano Trio

    Musical performances are also ramping up at the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, 6751 Calumet Ave.

    This weekend, a trio of UW-Whitewater faculty members will use the piano, cello and violin to fill the room with romantic, late romantic, and 20th-century era music.

    Music Mosaics Piano Trio is at 3 p.m. Oct. 13, and tickets are on sale at fcmep.org .
