Two Rivers man gets prison time for December 2023 Manitowoc shooting on Meadowbrook Drive

MANITOWOC – Gabriel E. Soto , an 18-year-old Two Rivers man, was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in state prison for his role in an incident in December when several rounds of bullets were shot into a vehicle and two apartments on Meadowbrook Drive in Manitowoc.

Soto was arrested after police were called to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Meadowbrook Drive for a report of multiple shots fired Dec. 3.

According to a news release from Manitowoc Police Department, officers received a report the shots were fired at an unoccupied vehicle, but soon had reports from residents who had bullets go into their apartments.

No one was injured during the incident.

During a plea hearing July 16, Soto was convicted of two felony counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, one felony count of theft, one felony count of selling a dangerous weapon to a child and one misdemeanor count of criminal damage to property.

He appeared for a sentencing hearing Oct. 3 at Manitowoc County Courthouse before Judge Robert Dewane. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gail Prost. Soto was represented by attorney Brian Van Ells.

After he serves two-and-a-half years in state prison, Soto will be under extended supervision for an additional five years.
