    Introducing the Herald-Tribune 2024 All-Area Boys Track & Field Team

    At the end of each season, The Herald-Tribune selects All-Area teams honoring the best athletes for every sport. Coaches from Sarasota and Manatee County schools are sent nomination forms and are asked to nominate and rate their athletes as well as those from other teams. That data combined with The Herald-Tribune's research led to the selection of the All-Area teams.

    FIRST TEAM

    Jozell Bing

    School: Palmetto

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Bing won the Region 3A-3 400 hurdles title in 55.50 as well as in District 3A-10 (57.06) and Manatee County (56.12). He also medaled in the 110 hurdles in the region with a fourth place, won the district title (15.22), and was second in Manatee County.

    Torance Brady

    School: Parrish Community

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Brady finished 12 th in the Class 3A meet in the 100 hurdles in 15.10 seconds, was second in Region 3A-3 (15.07), and won the District 3A-9 crown in a personal best 14.65.

    School: Saint Stephen's Episcopal

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Brown capped his high school career by placing third in Class A javelin with a throw of 166 feet, 9 inches (50.83m). He won the regional (50.73m/166-5), district, and Manatee County titles in the discipline.

    School: Riverview

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Casteneda finished ninth at the Class 4A state meet with discus throw of 156 feet, 11 inches. He won the discus in Region 4A-2 (159-1), District 4A-8, and in the Sarasota County meet.

    Ramsey Cole

    School: Manatee

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Cole made it to state in the 100 and placed ninth in 10.99 seconds. He finished eighth in Region 4A-2 in 10.72, fourth in District 4A-8, and was the Manatee County 100 champion.

    School: Lakewood Ranch

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Cummings was third in Region 4A-2 for the discus with a throw of 149 feet, 4 inches, second in District 4A-8, and second in the Manatee County meet. He finished his season 15 th at state.

    Collin Dillingham

    School: Out-of-Door Academy

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Dillingham took 12 th in Class A in the 800 with a time of 1:59.48, a personal best. He did get on the podium by helping the Thunder 4x400 team take seventh and the 4x800 team place fifth. He did win the District A-11 800 title.

    School: Booker

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: In the triple jump, Estrada took second in Region 2A-3 with a distance of 12.82 meters (42-0.75), a personal best, and won District 2A-11 before finishing 18 th at state.

    School: Booker

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Evans grabbed two state medals in Class 2A by placing sixth in the 100 (11.02) and eighth in the 200 (22.01). He swept both races at the Region 2A-3 and District 2A-11 meets.

    Chase Graziadei

    School: Venice

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Graziadei won the Region 4A-2 and District 4A-8 pole vault titles with identical jumps of 4.20 meters (13-9.25) and won the Sarasota County title. He placed 11 th at state.

    Matthew Groves

    School: Venice

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Groves placed fifth in Class 4A in the 400 (47.85) and 15 th in the 200. He was 2nd in the 400 and fourth in the 200 in Region 4A-2 as was third in the 200 and fifth in the 400 at districts. He swept both races in the Sarasota County meet.

    Year: Sophomore

    Highlights: Gyurka finished his season with a third-place finish in the 3200 in Class A with a time of 9:28.22. He also took third in Region A-3 and won the district and Sarasota County meets.

    School: North Port

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Howard took 13 th in 100 (11.12) and 11 th in the 200 (22.02) in Class 4A. He ran personal best times in Region 4A-2 to take fourth in the 100 (10.65) and second in the 200 (21.55).

    Year: Sophomore

    Highlights: Hugan medaled at state in the shotput by taking seventh with a throw of 50 feet, 6 inches. He was third in Region 2A-3 (50-8.25) and placed second at district in the shotput and won the discus. He was also the Sarasota County meet shotput and javelin champ.

    Candler Johnson

    School: Bradenton Christian

    Year: Freshman

    Highlights: Johnson placed fifth in Class A in the long jump with an effort of 22 feet, 7 inches (6.88m) after winning region (7.06m/23-2), district and Manatee County titles in the event. He also finished sixth at district in the 100 and 200.

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Kosko took ninth in Class 3A in the shotput with a throw of 50 feet, 2 inches (15.29m), took sixth in the region, and won the shotput at district (15.56m/51-0.75) and placed second in the discus.

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Moschella qualified for both hurdle events at state, taking fourth in the 400 (55.80) and 14 th in the 110 in Class A. He finished third in both at regional, won both at district, and placed second in both in the Sarasota County meet.

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Palmer helped the 4x800 team take fifth at state. He was fifth in the 800 in the region (1:58.69), won the Sarasota County title, and placed second in District 4A-8. He was also second in the high jump at the district and county meets.

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Priede placed eighth in Class 4A in the 400 hurdles (55.14), second in Region 4A-2 (54.96), and won the event at district and in Sarasota County. He also won the 110 hurdles at the county and district meets.

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Robinson took 14 th at state in the shotput after taking third in Region 4A-2, won the District 4A-8 (15.29m/50-2) and Manatee County titles.

    Marcus Schade

    School: Braden River

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Schade placed second in Manatee County in the 400 hurdles (57.31), won District 3A-9, and placed second in Region 3A-2 (56.57) before finishing 14 th at state.

    Adryan Schuetz

    Year: Junior

    Highlights: Schuetz took second in Class 4A in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet. 5.5 inches. He won the event at the Sarasota County and district meets before taking sixth in Region 4A-2.

    Highlights: Smith helped the 4x100 team win region and district titles while placing second in both the 100 and 200 at the Manatee County and district meets.

    Year: Senior

    Highlights: Parker Vitoritt helped the 4x400 team take seventh at state while he was second in the 200 and third in the 100 at the district meet and sixth in the 200 and seventh in the 100 in Region 3A-3.
