BUSINESS BUZZ: Sarasota Airport CEO wins award for contributions to Florida aviation

The Florida Airports Council has presented Fredrick J. Piccolo, president and CEO of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport and the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority , with the 2024 Aviation Leadership Award.

This award is given to an airport professional who has demonstrated outstanding service and contributions to the Florida airport community.

The award emphasizes Piccolo’s assistance over the last two years with FAC leadership and state affairs personnel on numerous legislative issues. His long tenure as CEO and his deep political relationships allowed him to work with the council to advance legislation that supports Florida airports.

Piccolo has over 53 years of experience in the aviation industry, beginning in 1970 at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport. He has served as president and CEO of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport since 1995.

DutchCrafters ranks in top 5,000

DutchCrafter s, the leading brand of Amish furniture at www.dutchcrafters.com , made Inc. Magazine’s 2024 list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

DutchCrafters last made the list in 2018 and has now been on the list seven times. DutchCrafters placed 4,961 on this year’s Inc. 5000 list. The company placed 93 for retail companies and 459 in Florida.

Companies on the 2024 Inc. 5000 list are ranked according to percentage of revenue growth from 2020 through 2023.

During these years of growth, DutchCrafters redesigned the Sarasota showroom, opened a showroom in Alpharetta, Georgia, added a warehouse and began an in-house delivery service.
