Actor Robert Hays has made movie-goers and TV viewers laugh for decades. Now 77 years old, Hays began his career with small roles on classic television shows like Wonder Woman. He then expanded his pop-culture reach by starring in the b-big-screen disaster spoof, Airplane!, which led to his starring role as Brad Benson opposite Donna Pescow in the female leading role of the ABC hit sitcom Angie.

    A Closer Look

Robert Hays began his career with years in live theatre, performing in plays such as William Shakespeare's Richard III and The Glass Menagerie at the famed Old Globe Theatre in San Diego.

After finding solid success with Airplane! and Angie, Hays would go on to portray Tony Stark/Iron Man in three different productions: Iron Man (1994), Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and The Incredible Hulk (1996).

Hays has credited Airplane! actor Peter Graves (who died in 2010, and who was best known for TV's classic spy series, Mission: Impossible) as his acting mentor and close friend (though the two actors did not perform together in either the original Airplane! film or its follow-up, The Sequel.)

    Conclusion

Robert Hays and his likable personality and comedic talent have made him one of the most popular actors in the history of entertainment.
