    Overview

Former child actor Christopher Castile is best known for his roles as Mark Foster on the classic TV sitcom Step by Step (ABC, 1991-1998) and Ted Newton in the feature films Beethoven (1992) and Beethoven's 2nd (1993). Today, Castile, who was born on June 15, 1980, in Orange County, California, is a teacher, and married with two children.

    A Closer Look

Christopher Castile shares his birthday with King of Queen actress Leah Remini and, as fate would have it, they both performed with Doris Roberts and Patricia Heaton. Castile appeared with Heaton in the first Beethoven film and Roberts once made a guest appearance on Step by Step.

Like some of his former co-stars, Castile retired from acting in 1998 when his famed sitcom ended. The actor went on to later later earn his master's degree.

While attending college in 2002 in Southern California, Castile became engaged to long-time girlfriend-turned-wife, Alison Castile.

In 2004, Christopher, who has a pilot's license, recorded Focus on the Family's "Adventures in Odyssey," as the character "Nick Mulligan."

In January 2012, Castile worked as an economics student teacher at Downey High School. He also wrote an autobiography, Being You Is Most Definitely Cool, and enjoys playing golf.

He is presently a professor of political science at Biola University in La Mirada, California, and also teaches at Downey High School as a history teacher, with Castile slyly naming the course Step By Step.

    Conclusion

Unlike many former child stars who faced overwhelming challenges, led difficult lives into their adulthood, or died in some tragic way, Christopher Castile found success and happiness beyond the sometimes overwhelming spotlight of the Hollywood machine.

That’s really near to hear he did some work with Focus on the Family. Oh cool, my family and I used to love Adventures in Odyssey bc of Whit’s place and our last name being Whitaker. I haven’t heard anything Adventures in Odyssey since I was a small boy. Not too many know about Focus on the Family. I even took a tour of their facility in Colorado when I was 13-14ish. Good wholesome family memories 😃
