He's an actor/stand-up comedian with an honest view of life. He was once married to Roseanne Barr, another actor/stand-up comedian. His name is Tom Arnold, he's now 65 years old, and this is his story.

    A Closer Look

Tom Arnold was born in Ottumwa, Iowa. After his parents divorced, Arnold was raised by his father. In 1983, he made his stand-up comedy debut at an open-mic night at the University of Iowa.

In 1988, Arnold entered the Minneapolis Comedy Competition and won first place. Shortly after, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stand-up comedy.

That same year, he was hired as a staff writer for Roseanne Barr's legendary comedy series, Roseanne, and was then cast on screen as Arnie Thomas.

Three years later, Arnold and Barr were wed, with Arnold converting to Judaism before the ceremony. In 1994, their union ended in divorce.

Arnold has wed two more times since. He was hired to co-host a Fox Sports Net talk show, has provided the voice for the "Oven Mitt" character in the TV commercials for the Arby's restaurant chain, and does other voiceover work.

    A New Leaf

In recent years, Tom Arnold has dedicated his life to making healthy choices, to keep him fit and happy at 65.

Arnold is also now getting back in front of the camera. He recently appeared in a few episodes of the popular daytime serial, The Bold and the Beautiful.

"They were shockingly good at their jobs. I don’t know how they do it, but they do it very well," the 65-year-old told TODAY.com.

Arnold played Captain Deuce Stevens, a pilot tasked with transporting Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to Monte Carlo for the relaunch of their company's fashion line, Brooke’s Bedroom.

    Conclusion

No doubt that Tom Arnold is a versatile performer who has the stamina to sustain and thrive beyond what can sometimes be the all-too-gleaming spotlight of Hollywood.
