‘Birds and Blooms’ set July 27
The public is invited to Eveleth-Fayal Garden Club’s “Birds and Blooms” Flower Show on Saturday, July 27, at the Fayal Town Hall, 4375 Shady Lane, Eveleth. Entries will be accepted on Friday, July 26, 4-6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Exhibitors do not have to be garden club members. There will be a special category for young gardeners. Contact Alice at 218-749-5516, Nancy at 218-744-2941 or Jan at 218-865-6018 for a list of possible entries and rules. Viewing of the exhibits is 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday. Huskies Rally for Walk-Off Win Ahead of All-Star Break
DULUTH, Minn.- The Duluth Huskies defeated the Eau Claire Express 7-6 in walk-off fashion in their final game before the All-Star break on Sunday at Wade Stadium. The Huskies trailed 6-0 through three innings, giving up two home runs in the process. However, Duluth clawed back, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and tying the game in the seventh. In the bottom of the ninth, Joe Vos hit a single to left field, bringing in Charlie Sutherland for the game-winning run.
