INGLEWOOD, California — An Inglewood man and a father-daughter duo have been charged with stealing nearly $400,000 in goods and selling counterfeit items at a swap meet. On July 30, 2024, California Highway Patrol (CHP) investigators assigned to the Border Division's Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF) served a search warrant in connection with an ongoing retail theft investigation. They identified a residence where stolen merchandise was being stored and sold at an open-air market in Torrance, California. Jose Cuadra, 41, who was identified as the alleged leader of the fencing operation, was arrested at his Los Angeles residence.

This month, autonomous riding service Waymo announced a major expansion across the Los Angeles area, increasing the range of self-driving cars to 79 square miles across the city.
