HES sets increase to charges due to TVA rate increase
Due to a wholesale rate increase set down by the Tennessee Valley Authority, Hopkinsville Electric System will be implementing an increase to their kilowatt-hour charges. According to a news release from HES, the TVA recently announce a 5.25 percent rate increase to begin in October of this year, affecting HES and all of the other 152 TVA power distributors. The TVA has said the rate increase it due to population growth and greater energy demand, resulting in additional funds needed to build new generation and infrastructure.
