Summit Carbon Solution delaying their pipeline request with the SD PUC
SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(SD NewsWatch)- An Iowa company seeking regulatory approval to run a carbon dioxide pipeline through South Dakota and four other states said a delay in its plan to re-apply for a permit has nothing to do with a November vote on the project. Here’s reporter Stu Whitney with more:

More schools to consider banning cell phone use during school hours?
YANKTON, SD (KELO.com) — At least one South Dakota school – Gettysburg – is banning the use of cell phones during the school day, and more may be on the way. School Superintendents were encouraged by state education Secretary Joe Graves to discuss the issue with staff at their recent state conference. Yankton Superintendent Wayne Kindle says concerns run both ways.
Beringer competed in National Little Britches Finals Rodeo
From June 30 to July 6, Team Beringer, from Gettysburg, South Dakota participated in the 2024 National Little Britches Finals Rodeo held in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The team qualified in Breakaway Roping, Pole Bending, Barrel Racing, and Trail Course. The National Little Britches Rodeo Association (NLBRA) is all about sponsoring competitive rodeos and championships for youths between the ages of five to eighteen. The NLBRA is in its 72nd year of existence, and there are more than 3,000 kids across 33 different states that participate in over 500 sanctioned rodeos throughout the year to qualify for this annual national event. Candidates must be in the top seven places of a particular event, at least six different times each year, to wind up at the famous Lazy E Arena to have a shot to be the top cowboy and cowgirl in the United States.

Watertown man enters plea agreement for one charge of rape & remaining are dismissed
{KXLG – Watertown, SD} On July 17, 2024, 63-year-old James Barrett Kaska, a convicted sex offender, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape.
