July 24, 2024 – Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has proclaimed Richard James Oglesby Day is July 25, 2024, in the State of Illinois. This proclamation is to recognize Governor Oglesby’s contribution to the state and to the country on the 200th anniversary of his birth. The proclamation was requested by the Gov. Oglesby Mansion Board of Directors.
Ramsey man facing multiple Felony counts in Fayette County Court
A Ramsey man is facing multiple felony counts in Fayette County Court. 33 year old Justin D. Blackburn is charged with Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, which is a Class 2 Felony. Information in the charge says Blackburn is alleged to have pushed back on the Police Officer, causing a laceration to the left elbow. Blackburn is also facing a charge of Domestic Battery-Prior, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information says that Blackburn allegedly threw a can of beer at a family or household member, striking them in the head. Blackburn is also charged with Criminal Trespass to Residence-Person Present, which is a Class 4 Felony. Information states that Blackburn entered a residence in Ramsey at a time when he is alleged to have known one or more persons were present in the residence.
