The Washington Capitals saw their prospects and rising stars put on a show once again on Thursday, as the Hershey Bears dominated the Hartford Wolf Pack to open the Atlantic Division Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Ivan Miroshnichenko had a highlight-reel insurance goal in the third period, stealing the puck and breaking away before deking and throwing a backhander past Olof Lindbom, who was hurt on the play.

Miroshnichenko now has three goals in his last two playoff games, which marks his first Calder Cup Playoff run with the defending champions.

Fellow Capitals prospects Chase Priskie, Ethen Frank and Alex Limoges along with Bears signees, Jimmy Huntington and Garrett Roe also scored en route to a 6-1 win. Frank leads Hershey with four goals so far this postseason.

On the other side of the puck, Dylan McIlrath, Hardy Häman Aktell and the Bears' blue line held down the fort, while Hunter Shepard stopped 13 of 14 shots.

Hershey leads its series with Hartford, the New York Rangers' AHL-affiliate, 1-0 and next plays on Saturday.
