    Hershey man brings home bronze at Transplant Games of America

    HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM)– A second local athlete is bringing a medal from the Transplant Games back home to central Pennsylvania.

    Carl Rohr from Hershey won the bronze medal in the doubles pickleball tournament at the Transplant Games of America in Birmingham, Alabama, this week. Rohr also participated in the 1500-meter walk, volleyball, and the softball throwing events.

    Rohr said he had a heart transplant in 1997 at 34 years old. Despite the massive change in his body, he competed in the next Transplant Games.

    “It’s all for the love and kindness, and support we get from one another. and to show the world that donation works. There are success stories out there. We live a wholesome life,” said Rohr.
