Former Eau Claire Music Festival Grounds Listed for Sale
The Eau Claire site that had formerly hosted music festivals like Country Jam has been listed for sale with over 100 acres available. County Jam, one of the most popular music festivals in the Chippewa Valley each year, was held at the Event District in Eau Claire for the first time in 2023. Before that, the event had been held on the newly listed Crescent Avenue land for decades. But now that the music festival has changed locations, the owners of the land say it’s time to move on.

SPOONER — On July 20, Arts in Hand Gallery in downtown Spooner hosted an event to raise funds and awareness for the Washburn County Area Humane Society (WCAHS). The collaborative “Christmas in July” week-long event included “Pets in the Park,” in which WCAHS brought adoptable animals from their nonprofit animal shelter to Centennial Park on Walnut Street. Person arrested at Ashland homeless shelter faces drug charges
A search warrant executed at the Ashland homeless shelter earlier this month by Ashland police lead to an arrest. Authorities say Shawn Saari, 49, was arrested on Aug. 16 for distribution of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. A “substantial” amount cash was seized, along with drug paraphernalia and fentanyl, according to a news release sent Thursday morning. More information will be provided as it’s released.
