Nebraska girls club soccer team wins national championship
WICHITA, Kan. - Nebraska Select 18G won the US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup on Tuesday, in Wichita, Kan. Select is the only year-round competitive soccer program for high school-aged boys and girls west of Lincoln. The team led by former UNK soccer head coach Mike Munch went undefeated in pool play to earn the #1 seed for bracket play. Select defeated 1776 United (PA) 6-2 in the semifinals on Monday morning to advance to the championship where they defeated Lakeshore United FC (WI) 4-1.

Montgomery County Appraiser Melody Kiikert spoke at First Friday in Independence last week, addressing the topic of increases in property valuations by the county.
