Hospital Donates to Fire Department
Employees of Memorial Health System in Abilene wore blue jeans at work for another “Jeans Day” fundraiser on Fridays throughout the month of June. According to the hospital, employees make a donation of at least $5 and are allowed to wear blue jeans at work. A total donation of $750 was donated to the Herington Fire Department for CPR training.

Great Bend Administrator apologizes for short stint in position
Last week, Great Bend City Administrator Brandon Anderson submitted his resignation, giving the city a 30-day notice. Hired last summer, Anderson’s stay with the city was just over a year. He had a chance to publicly address the Great Bend City Council at Monday's meeting for the first time stating the decision was based on personal reasons.

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State women’s basketball head coach Jeff Mittie has promoted assistant coach Ebony Gilliam to associate head coach for the 2024-25 season. "Ebony has been an integral part of our success," said Mittie about Gilliam. “She has continued to grow in the profession and has been involved in every area of our program in our time at Kansas State. 75th anniversary celebration of Kansas Merci Boxcar in Hays
This weekend, the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Kansas Merci Boxcar, a gift from France in appreciation of American support, will be celebrated.
