Summer may be a slower time in classrooms but not so much for school boards grappling with superintendent turnover. Fia Davis, superintendent of Bronx High School Districts 8, 10, and 11 in New York City Public Schools, is moving on to take the helm of Freeport Public Schools on Long Island. Davis was previously a deputy superintendent in the Bronx and a principal for 15 years.
Lynbrook man awarded with 2024 Legionnaire of the Year
Dennis Duffy was awarded with the 2024 to 2025 Nassau County Legionnaire of the Year. Duffy is a member of Lynbrook’s American Legion Post 335. The award was presented at the Nassau County Legions annual meeting in June.
