Registration is open for the 38th Annual Children’s Network Conference on Sept. 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference is one of the Inland Empire’s premier training events open to the public and professionals in social work, mental health, juvenile justice, child development, child welfare, nursing and more. The conference will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel located at 222 N. Vineyard Ave. in Ontario.

“It is my sincere hope that our conference attendees will leave this experience with a deep understanding of the vital role positivity plays in the lives of our children, and how it contributes to building their resilience,” said Children’s Network Officer Ashley Brooksher. “We aim to equip our service providers with the tools and knowledge they need to better serve our most vulnerable families and children.”

The Children’s Network of San Bernardino County works to improve the quality of life for at-risk children who, because of behavior, abuse, neglect, medical needs, educational assessment and/or detrimental daily living situations are eligible for services from one or more of the member agencies of the Children’s Policy Council.

This year’s conference will feature keynote speaker Leah Plunkett, author of the book “Sharenthood: Why We Should Think Before We Talk About Our Kids Online.” Plunkett will examine the implications of “sharenthood”—adults’ excessive digital sharing of children’s data, the risks, and the legal system that enables “sharenting.”

Individuals can register for the 12 workshops that will focus on providing effective support to children, families and youth. To register for the conference, visit https://tinyurl.com/4e4jvzfa by Sept. 13. For more information, call (909) 383-9677.
