Police on Monday arrested a fourth student this month for allegedly making a threat of violence against a Riverside school, and an additional student will be charged with conspiracy in connection with the same incident, authorities said.

A 13-year-old male was taken into custody and booked into a Riverside County juvenile detention facility on suspicion of criminal threats and conspiracy.

Late Monday night officers launched a “School Threat Assessment and Response,” or STAR investigation following reports from Central Middle School parents of an Instagram post depicting a “student with a possible firearm and a list of classmates’ names,” according to a Riverside Police Department statement Tuesday.

Police identified the student, and a search of his home uncovered a “realistic toy gun,” the statement said.

Authorities requested anyone with additional information on this alleged threat of school violence to contact School Resource Officer Ben Rodriguez at BRodriguez@RiversideCA.gov or 951-826-5638.

Earlier this month police arrested students, a 13-year-old and two 15-year-olds, enrolled in Chemawa Middle School, Arlington High School and Ramona High School.

as with many things kids are influenced by sensationalized infamy as well as the fact they emulate so much of what they see. acid in the 60s hip hop in the 90s, sad new TREND is school shootings. nothing new just more widespread as youngsters are so heavily influenced by media more than any other time in history.
