Edison Council Tables Ordinance to Reduce Maximum Height for New Developments on Amboy Avenue
EDISON, NJ - The township has tabled an ordinance to amend the Amboy Avenue Redevelopment Plan. The ordinance would have reduced the maximum height for new mixed-use buildings. The council voted four to two to table the ordinance at their regular meeting on Wednesday. The ordinance aimed to reduce the permissible height for mixed-use retail and office buildings. The Eighth Squad reports the arrest of two undomiciled males for an incident that occurred on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:55 a.m. in Hicksville. According to Detectives, officers responded to the Days Inn, located at 828 S. Oyster Bay Road, for a disturbance. Upon police arrival, it was determined that a male victim, 43, was involved in a verbal argument with two individuals which escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, defendant Jelony Conze, 21, used his 2005 Nissan Altima to strike the victim. Defendant Conze exited the vehicle, with a machete, and slashed the victim’s hands multiple times causing severe lacerations.
