Men’s Soccer Adds 12 to Roster for 2024 Season
CHICAGO (July 29, 2024) – The UIC men's soccer team announced its class of signees prior to the 2024 fall season Monday, as the class features 12 newcomers to the Flames, including four transfers and eight incoming freshmen, with three of the freshmen having joined the team this past spring. Two of the transfers have Chicagoland roots, while six of the eight freshmen call the Chicagoland area their home.
1 killed in Roseland stabbing, Chicago police say
A person was stabbed to death in the Roseland neighborhood Monday morning, Chicago police said.The incident occurred at about 12:33 a.m. in the 300-block of East 115th Street.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Authorities have not released his identity.The two suspects fled the scene in a beige Toyota Corolla, police said.No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.
Woman grazed by bullet in downtown Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman was shot in The Loop early Monday morning. Just before 2 a.m., police said a 24-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk, 200 block of South Wabash Avenue, when shots were fired from a white SUV. The victim suffered a graze wound to her leg. She was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition. No arrests have been made.

After initially signing a four-year deal with the Chicago Bulls during the 2021 NBA offseason, Lonzo Ball has only played in 35 games (all of which came in that first season). The real estate transfer tax, or how much money the Village of Oak Park receives from the sale, is $482,000. The seller fronts that bill, according to Oak Park’s finance department. In Oak Park, the transfer tax is $8 per $1,000 of the sale price.
